Smarty as he is known, is a well mannered, friendly, handsome, conformationally correct, 15.1 hh red dun stallion. Sired by Smart Starbuck (NRHA Earner, finalist in many major NRHA events & NRHA 1.2 Million Dollar Sire) and out of, ThisTimeIReallyDunIt, Hollywood Dun It daughter out of Melankali Sweetie, he has the black type pedigree that will produce some wonderful, talented, pretty, friendly and colored babies.
Smarty was unshown due to a wire cut he obtained as a two year old, but he was broke to ride later in his life. He has limitted foals on the ground and 2012 will be the first foal crop born at D Hanson Ranch.
Thanks Mel and Jean for the opportunity to have Smarty become one of the newest members of the breeding program at D Hanson Ranch. I am sure that great things are in store for the future.
Smarty will be participating in the NRHA Sire & Dam program, Reining Alberta, Sask Stakes & Futurities and the Wild Rose Reining Classic. He will be nominated to the Canadian Supreme as his foals become elligibe.

His foals have excellent conformation, awesome looks, great dispositions, and have a lot of natural talent. His oldest foals will be four year olds in 2010 and we have heard that his foals are riding great.
We have heard very very good comments from the customers that have bred their mares to Leroy. There comments are " they are very easy to train with and have excellent looks and conformation."
